E-Council Publicity Committee May 31, 2008

The Engineers' Council Publicity Committee will be meeting this summer to work on publicity for the fall. Anyone interested in joining the Publicity Committee should contact Alex Carter, the committee chair, at atcarte2@ncsu.edu.

E-Council Elects New Officers April 17, 2008

The Engineers' Council met shortly after spring break to elect a new slate of officers for the 2008-2009 academic year.  Stepping down to devote more attention to her senior year, E-Council President, Tarryn McLean presided at the election of her successor.  The newly elected officers will preside over many of the exciting events that the Engineers' Council plans and presents for the engineering student body each year including the Fall and Spring Career Fairs and Engineers' Week.  The new officers are as follows:

NC State's Eta Kappa Nu Chapter recipient of HKN Outstanding Chapter Award January 03, 2008

hkn The Beta Eta Chapter of Eta Kappa Nu at NC State University is a recipient of the Eta Kappa Nu Outstanding Chapter Award for 2006-2007. This coveted award is a mark of great distinction for a college chapter. Chapters are judged on their activities of service to others, and all chapters with exemplary programs have an equal chance to win.

Because of the great significance associated with the OCA, the award plaque for Beta Eta Chapter will be formally announced and presented at the ECEDHA Annual Meeting Award banquet on Monday evening, March 17, 2008, at 6:00 PM. The Annual meeting will be held March 14-18, at the Lowes Coronado Bay Resort in San Diego, CA.

DID YOU KNOW...? Sophomore Workshop Dec 5 December 03, 2007

We are pleased to announce the first ECE Sophomore Workshop on December 5, 2007 (Wed) at 6-8pm in EB2 rm 1025, intended for second (and first) year students who are in or considering the ECE major.

The theme will be "DID YOU KNOW...?", and will include concise presentation and discussion by several ECE faculty members on the following topics:

Introduction to ECE Career Specializations
Job Hunting Resources, Internships/Co-ops
Graduate School Options and Reality
Undergraduate Research
Student Organizations
Fellowship Opportunities
Accelerated Bachelor's/Master's Degree Program

PIZZA will be served starting at 5:45pm. All sophomore and freshman students interested in Electrical and Computer Engineering are highly encouraged to attend.
