An interest meeting for prospective pledges will be held. If for some reason you
plan on pledging and are unable to attend, please contact an
as soon as possible so you can receive additional
specifics for pledging for the Spring 2008 semester.
· Volunteer Events
The main focus of the pledge initiation process is volunteering within our department and our community which reaffirms two of the three points that comprise
the Beta Eta Chapter's mission statement. Pledges will be required to attend at least
one event.
Habitat for Humanity Lots of fun! Details of the location will be provided as soon as they are confirmed.
Haven House An outreach program for misplaced children. We usually help improve their facilites such as painting or cleaning.
Tutoring Provided for undergraduate ECE classes free of charge. We tutor students every
Monday night from
7:30 - 9pm. You must attend
two sessions to fulfill the requirements.
If for some reason a pledge is unable to volunteer for the enough events, you must contact an
Officer immediately to determine possible alternatives.
· Pledge Social
Pledges and members are invited to Sammy's (located next to Burger King on Avent Ferry Road) for the second pledge meeting and pledge social. Drinks and food will be provided by the Chapter.
· Induction Ceremony
Pledges will be invited along with their families to attend the induction ceremony which will be followed by dinner. This semester we will be holding the ceremony at the State Club on Centennial Campus.
At this ceremony, pledges are officially inducted as members of the Beta Eta Chapter at NC State University.
· Dues
Dues will be $50 and can be paid via cash or check to an officer in
EB2 - 1004 (HKN/IEEE Office). Checks can be made out to "Eta Kappa Nu Beta Eta Chapter" Late dues will not be accepted. This is a one time fee for life!
