- Get acquainted with the various research groups, and the involved faculty members and students.
- Help new students especially determine the kind of work they would be interested in and to collaborate with faculty in their area of interest.
- Showcase their research in front of industry representatives.
- Provide Masters Thesis and PhD students an opportunity to sharpen their presentation skills.
There are 60 slide-presentation slots and 20 for poster presentations. |

Presentation Guidelines
The focus of this event is to give students an opportunity to practice and improve their presentation skills. To encourage wide participation, students should be aware that their presentation need not contain final research results. Students new to the department are especially encouraged to begin participating in these semi-annual seminars as early as possible so as to have the maximum number of opportunities to receive constructive feedback.
Powerpoint Presentations
-
Presenters must use Microsoft Powerpoint.
-
Presenters will have a total of 15 minutes for their presentations (12 minutes of presentations + 3 minutes of questions & answers).
This time constraint will be strictly enforced. A good way to judge the duration of your presentation is to estimate one minute per slide.
-
Computers will be provided for the presentations.
Poster Presentations
- Presenters must print their own posters.
- Posters will be hung on the poster strips on the first floor of Engineering Building II.
- Size: Maximum of 3' x 5'.
