Fall 2005 Seminar Event

The ECE GSA held the Fall 2005 Graduate Seminar Event on Saturday, August 27, 2005 from 9:00am to 3:00pm at the Larry K. Monteith Engineering Research Center, formerly known as EGRC. Powerpoint presentations were held in Rooms 136 and 246. Poster presentations were held in front of Room 136.

It was an opportunity for graduate students in the ECE department to:
- Learn about research being conducted in the department
- Get acquainted with the various research groups, and the involved faculty members and students.
- Help new students especially determine the kind of work they would be interested in and to collaborate with faculty in their area of interest
- Provide Masters Thesis and PhD students an opportunity to sharpen their presentation skills.

| In an effort to give more students an opportunity to present their research, the event was expanded significantly. There were two powerpoint presentation sessions and a poster presentation. Each powerpoint presentation session featured 15 presenters. These sessions run concurrently in separate rooms. There were 15 slots available for poster presentations. |

- ECE Department, especially, Tara Britt, Elain Hardin, Dwan Hartley and Dr. Trussell, for funding and support in putting up this event
- ECE Web team, particularly, Margaret Hudacko and Dennis Kliban

Participants in the powerpoint presentation sessions were judged by a panel of judges drawn from industry and faculty members from the department. The top two presenters for each session, as determined by the panel of judges, were:
