Presentation Guidelines

The focus of this event is to give students an opportunity to practice and improve their presentation skills. To encourage wide participation, students should be aware that their presentation need not contain final research results. Students new to the department are especially encouraged to begin participating in these semi-annual seminars as early as possible so as to have the maximum number of opportunities to receive constructive feedback.

Powerpoint Presentations

  • Presenters may use any presentation tools (Power point/Latex / Full Screen PDF)
  • Presenters will have a total of 15 minutes for their presentations (12 minutes of presentations + 3 minutes of questions & answers). This time constraint will be strictly enforced. A good way to judge the duration of your presentation is to estimate one minute per slide.
  • Computers will be provided for the presentations.
Poster Presentations
  • Presenters must print their own posters.
  • Posters will be hung on the poster strips on the first floor of Engineering Building II.
  • Size: Maximum of 3' x 5'.
If you have any questions regarding the requirements for presenters, or any general
question regarding the seminar, please contact Nikhil Deshpande at nadeshpa@ncsu.edu
