About Us

Engineers' Council, also known as "E-Council," is the representative assembly for the engineering undergraduate student body. The council organizes and facilitates major events such as the Engineering Career Fair and Engineering Week. In addition, the council is responsible for appropriating funds for the other engineering organizations at NC State. Finally, E-Council addresses the concerns of the undergraduate engineering student body. E-Council is made up of an exec board, one representative from each of the engineering departments, a freshman representative, and members at large.

All students are invited to attend our meetings every other Tuesday in Daniels 341 at 8PM. Check the calendar for exact dates.

Current Council Activities

With the fall semester quickly approaching, the Engineers' Council is getting into gear to serve the student population. E-Council will continue to serve the College of Engineering in its traditional ways, from hosting a career fair open to all students, including freshman, to appropriating funds for the various engineering organizations. We are also pleased to continue the Speak Your Noggin' Campaign (SYNC) and hosting the State of the College event with Dean Martin-Vega as part of our mission to better represent the student body’s view.

We are also excited to announce a few new events to assist the student body population. Most notable will be the Engineering Day, with workshops to help you get jobs and internships.

Be sure to check out our calendar to get more information about E-Council events, as well as other events occurring in the college of engineering. In addition, sign up for our new list serve to get receive information about such events in your emails.

Joining E-Council

E-Council is always looking for new students to become members and have an impact at NC State. Currently, departmental representative positions are available for the biomedical (BME) and industrial and system (ISE) engineering departments. In addition, member-at-large positions are available, which are open to all engineering students. To become a member-at-large and gain voting rights, a student must attend 5 general meetings, help out with E-week and the Career Fair, and be involved in a committee. More information about the various committees can be found here.

If you are interested in joining E-Council as a full-time member, or if you wish to get more information about being a member with voting rights, send us an email at e-council@ncsu.edu, or attend one of our meetings, which are listed on the calendar.

E-Council is a great way to get involved around campus, gain hands-on leadership experience, and meet many other engineers at State!
