Weekend Social Events

First:  Up!

Friday night, 9pm, at the campus cinema they are showing Up!, an animated movie about an old man that, after his wife dies, takes to the skies hunting for a place that represents the couple’s love of adventure.  We are meeting at Talley at 8:30, leaving around 8:45 for the campus cinema.

Second: Contra-Dancing!

Contra-Dancing is a mix of line dancing and square dancing, but a lot less countrified and a whole lot more fun.  If you’ve never been, it’s a lot of fun and even if you can’t dance, they tell you step-by-step how to do it.  The people are friendly and helpful, and even if you sit out, its still fun to watch!  The beginner’s lesson starts at 6:30pm, the whole thing ends at 10pm, but you can leave sooner if you want/need to.  $5 with your student ID.  We’ll meet at Talley at 6:15pm, wear comfortable shoes!  In all likelihood, you will be on your feet all night.  Ladies (and Gents) if you have a skirt, you may want to wear it, though not required by any means!  If you don’t have a skirt but want to wear one, I have a few extra.
