Who are we?
The NCSU Student Chapter of ASHRAE is a part of the Triangle Chapter of the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE). The student chapter at NC State University was founded April 19, 1948 in the Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering Department at NC State.
The NCSU student chapter, as the national ASHRAE organization, serves to advance the arts and sciences of heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and refrigeration to serve humanity and to promote a sustainable world. This is accomplished by bringing in professionals from a variety of disciplines in the HVAC field to discuss HVAC technology, current engineering issues, and professionalism in the workplace.
Students are encouraged to enhance their education by participation in the national ASHRAE design competition, working on projects in the HVAC field, and performing co-op and internships at participating HVAC firms. Scholarship opportunities are available to qualifying students.
