AOE Scholarship

Alpha Omega Epsilon, North Carolina State University’s only engineering sorority, is offering its annual “Female Engineering Student of the Year” scholarship competition to all female students enrolled full-time at North Carolina State University in any engineering or computer science discipline. This scholarship is made possible through funding from the Alpha Omega Epsilon International Foundation and Gamma Chapter Alumnae. Outlined in this page is the Scholarship Criteria, Goals, Qualifications and Awards.

Scholarship Criteria
To be eligible for the Female Engineering Student of the Year Scholarship you must:

  • Be a female enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student in any engineering or computer science discipline at NCSU
  • Have at least one semester to complete towards your degree at the time the award is presented

The scholarship winner will be selected on such criteria as scholastic activity, leadership, ambition and citizenship. Financial need is not a consideration. In awarding scholarships, Alpha Omega Epsilon’s Scholarship Board will not discriminate on the basis of an applicant’s race, color, age, creed, organizational affiliation, or national origin.

Goals
This scholarship is intended to Encourage, recognize and reward:

  • Scholastic Achievement
  • University and Community Involvement
  • Personal Development

Qualifications

  • Outstanding Scholastics: applicant should hold a total GPA of 2.80+, and a 3.0+ major GPA at the time of application
  • Involvement: applicant should participate in a variety of class and university extracurricular activities (clubs, committees, athletics, music, arts, special projects)
  • Leadership and Responsibility: honors, offices held, committee chairs, etc., part-time employment
  • Ambition: goal-oriented drive, cooperativeness, initiative, etc.
  • Citizenship: community involvement and pride, volunteer work, civic duties, etc.

Awards

Alpha Omega Epsilon’s Scholarship Board will select one “Female Engineering Student of the Year” who will receive a $500 one-time scholarship. Applicants will be notified of award decisions by mail. The scholarship will be presented in May.
