About AOE Alpha Omega Epsilon is a professional and social sorority composed of female engineering students and alumnae. The sorority was founded on November 13, 1983 on the Marquette University Campus. Today Alpha Omega Epsilon is an international organization with chapters and colonies all over the United States and Canada. The Sisters of Alpha Omega Epsilon promote ideals and objectives that hope to further the advancement of female engineers, while at the same time developing bonds of lifelong friendships. Alpha Omega Epsilon strives for scholarship and academic achievement. The sisters create a friendly, warm atmosphere where integrity, character, and self-confidence can foster. The sorority hopes to enlighten female engineers to the career opportunities available. Alpha Omega Epsilon encourages ties with other Greek Organizations, leads to the discovery of additional extracurricular activities, and aids in pursuing contacts with engineers in industry. The Sisters of Alpha Omega Epsilon are proud of the principles the organization stands for, and always welcomes young women who can share n the dreams and reap the benefits that Alpha Omega Epsilon has to offer. Alpha Omega Epsilon, as a young organization, allows each member to play a significant part in realizing the group's future goals. The Gamma Chapter of Alpha Omega Epsilon, at North Carolina State University, upholds the responsibilities and goals set by the international organization. 18 female engineering students founded Gamma Chapter on April 20, 1991; today we have a total of 25 sisters. The Gamma Chapter is an active member of the Engineering College and promotes females in engineering through professional development events and awarding an annual scholarship given to one female in enrolled in the college of engineering. Gamma Chapter also participates in campus project events such as Take Back the Night, Spend a Day in Engineering and Shack - a -Thon. Our sisterhood also strives to serve the community by participating in community service events such as Service Raleigh and sponsoring clothes and canned food drives. In addition, we have donated money to Relay for Life, Breast Cancer Research, the MS Walk and the Diabetes Walk The Gamma Chapter of Alpha Omega Epsilon strives to promote professionalism, self-esteem, and confidence to the women studying engineering at North Carolina State University.
