NC State now has a Design-Build-Fly Team!

The Cessna/Raytheon Missile System Student Design-Build-Fly competition provides a real-world aircraft design opportunity for engineering students.

Student teams will design, fabricate, and demonstrate the flight capabilities of an unmanned, electric powered, radio controlled aircraft which can best meet the specified mission profile. The goal is a balanced design possessing good demonstrated flight handling qualities and practical and affordable manufacturing requirements while providing a high vehicle performance.

This year's team, twenty strong and growing, is led by Jesse Ellington, a senior in aerospace engineering, as well as Philip Barrow and Matt Hazard, graduate students in aerospace engineering. If you are interested in joining, please email the team at ncsu.aiaa+dbf@gmail.com

The team is also looking for sponsors, either through monetary, material, or transportation donations. With a competition in Tucson, AZ, an aircraft to build, reports to write, and a future to build, the team needs your help. If you would like to make a tax-deductable donation, please contact ncsu.aiaa+dbf@gmail.com. We are highly appreciative of your donation, of any size or amount!
