TopCoder is a company which administers various computer programming competitions.
Since 2001 they offer what is called Algorithm Competitions where a programmer is challenged
by writing code and then submitting test cases to make competitors' code break.
The competitors are usually give a set of three algorithmic problems to solve in 75 minutes time.

Description: Head-to-head algorithm problem solving event
ACM/AITP will be welcoming the TopCoder College Tour to NC State as they sponsor a head-to-head algorithm problem solving event (or, more simply put, a programming competition). The competition will involve solving programming problems using your choice of four languages (Java, C++, C#, or VB.NET). You only need to have knowledge of one of these languages to compete and programmers of all levels of
experience are welcome!
All participants will receive a TopCoder t-shirt, and the top three competitors will win one of three great prizes:
- 1st place - 2GB iPod Nano
- 2nd place - 1GB Flash Memory drive
- 3rd place - $50 Amazon.com gift certificate
Schedule of Events
- 10:30 AM EST - Computer lab opens & competitors set up
- 11:00 AM EST - Competition starts
- 12:35 PM EST - Competition ends
- 12:40 PM EST - Pizza, Results, TopCoder presentation
